Important Information about our Criterion
Discs
Original Criterion discs were made from zinc, which
is softer than steel. Consequently, the perimeter drive holes
were punched with a folded-under leading edge, to prevent
the soft zinc from tearing. Also, because Regina-style projections
were under patent protection, Criterion had to use a different
style projection.
Following the example of other recent manufacturers of reproduction
Criterion discs, we use tempered steel. This allows the use
of simple drive holes, without the folded edge. Also,
we use "Regina-Style" projections, which
are stronger than the original Criterion-type projections.
Please inquire if you have additional questions about our
new Criterion discs.
Please note that since musical scale on the Criterion 15 3/4"
Music Box
is the same as on the Regina/Polyphon 15.5" Box,
the musical arrangements for these Criterion Discs are virtually
identical
to those heard on our 15.5" Regina/Polyphon Discs.
